Men's ice hockey sends eight to all-academic team

NEWPORT, R.I. – Eight players from the Salve Regina University men’s ice hockey team have been selected as members of the 2011-12 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast All-Academic Team as announced by ECAC commissioner Rudy Keeling. The Seahawks were represented on the team by senior Isaiah Carlson, junior Mike Cenisio, sophomore Chase Davis, senior Henry DeSimone, junior William Gomolinski, junior Michael McDonald, sophomore Curtis McKeon, and sophomore Trey Rasmussen.

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. – Salve Regina University dropped a 5-2 decision to the Wentworth Institute of Technology during an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast contest at the Portsmouth Abbey Ice Rink on Senior Night. The Seahawks end the season with a 6-19-0 overall mark, including a 2-12-0 record during conference play, while the Leopards head into the postseason as the ECAC Northeast’s #1 seed, finishing the year at 18-6-1 (11-2-1 ECAC).

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. – The Salve Regina University men’s hockey team dropped a 6-5 overtime decision to Becker College on Wednesday night at the Portsmouth Abbey Ice Rink. The loss drops the Seahawks to 6-18-0 (2-11-0 ECAC), while the Hawks improve to 9-13-2 (4-8-1 ECAC).
Goodwin earns second rookie of the week award

MILTON, Mass. - In an ECAC Northeast Conference match-up, Curry College defeated Salve Regina University, 11-2, in men's ice hockey action on Thursday night in Milton, Mass. The Colonels improved to 12-8-2 overall and 10-1-0 record in the ECAC Northeast, while the Seahawks fell to 5-16-0 overall and 2-9-0 in the ECAC Northeast.

The Seahawks have won each of their last two contests to improve to 6-15-0 overall, while the Skyhawks fall to 6-11-2 on the season.
