John Gallogly '98 - the school’s male athlete of the year in 1997-98, Gallogly led the nation in steals for two consecutive years, his junior and senior seasons (NCAA Division III men's basketball). As a freshman, Gallogly was a member of the first Salve Regina team to qualify for the NCAA Division III championships with men's basketball winning the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) title. Gallogly joins Justin Hackley and Scott Kopecky as members of that championship team also in the Salve Regina Athletic Hall of Fame. A four-year basketball standout, Gallogly also played baseball and soccer at Salve Regina. He finished his basketball career with 1,133 career points which left him fifth all-time on the Seahawk scoring list when he graduated. He left Salve Regina as the NCAA all divisions all-time steals leader (413); only two others have passed that mark since 1998. Gallogly graduated as the school's all-time assist leader (429).
