Salve Regina University Athletics - Hall of Fame instructions


Hall of Fame Eligibility

  • Any Salve Regina athlete who graduated and competed in the intercollegiate program for a minimum of three years.
  • Any coach, administrator or faculty member who made a significant contribution to the success of the Salve Regina athletic program.

Hall of Fame Waiting Period

  • Five years after graduation for student-athletes
  • Ordinarily five years for a coach, administrator, or faculty member


Hall of Fame Nomination Process

  • Any present or past member of the Salve Regina community (i.e. faculty, staff, student, alumna/e) can nominate a candidate.
  • Nominations received before one month prior to Hall of Fame selection committee meeting will be considered for next induction class (and three selections thereafter).

Any of the following criteria should be used when offering a nomination for the Salve Regina Athletic Hall of Fame:

  • Evidence of strong leadership within the athletic realm
  • Exceptional athletic accomplishment as documented by All-American, Academic All-America®, All-Region, All-New England recognition
  • Milestone athletic accomplishments (i.e. first 1,000-point scorer in basketball; most career goals in soccer, etc.)
  • Starting or rejuvenating a component of the Salve Regina athletic program
  • Any other reason deemed worthy of recognition by the nominator

Hall of Fame selection committee will consist of the following:

  • Vice President for Student Life
  • Director of Athletics
  • Sports Information Director
  • Alumni Office representative
  • Faculty member
  • Two coaches (male, female)
  • Two student-athletes (male, female)
