Bryn Protheroe- NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Week (10/9-15/2023) WESTWOOD, Mass. -- The NEWMAC has announced its Athlete of the Week honorees for the week ending October 15, 2023, and Salve Regina University junior goalkeeper Bryn Protheroe (Glastonbury, Conn.) has been selected as the Defensive Player of the Week for field hockey.

Week at a Glance: Seahawks • October 9-15, 2023 NEWPORT, R.I. (October 9, 2023) – Salve Regina now has seven weeks of NEWMAC competition experience. Seahawk teams are starting to see where they matchup against conference rivals, make offensive and defensive tweaks and set new goals for the end of the fall season. Winter sports including women's ice hockey, women's basketball, men's ice hockey and men's basketball are preparing for the start of their seasons and preseason exhibition contests will begin.

Kennedy scores sole goal against Babson
WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Senior Shannon Kennedy put the Seahawks on the board in a 6-1 loss against the reigning 2022 NEWMAC champion Babson College Saturday in conference action. Kennedy scored with just ten minutes to go in the contest after the Beavers made six unanswered goals.

Seahawks quell Lyons for second NEWMAC win
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. -- The Salve Regina field hockey team defeated the Wheaton College Lyons 4-1 Tuesday night at Gaudet Field. Senior Shannon Kennedy scored nine minutes into the game and the Seahawks never looked back.
