Salve Regina sails past Salem State, 9-0

SALEM, Mass. -- Salve Regina University women's tennis team shutout Salem State University, 9-0, at The Central Campus Tennis Courts on Thursday afternoon to improve to 2-0 on the year. The Vikings lose their second straight (0-2) to open the season.

The Seahawks won all six singles matches in straight sets with Sailor Nordstrom and Elena Murdock picking up wins at first and second singles. Nordstrom defeated Cassie Liu, 6-2, 6-1 while Murdock beat Samantha Tenney 6-3, 6-2. Stephanie Davis earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory at third singles. Nordstrom/Murdock also won 8-2 at first doubles over Liu /Tenney.
