NEWPORT, R.I. – The Salve Regina University women's tennis team hosts its final regular-season home match of the fall with out of league competition Thursday (Oct. 5) as Suffolk University visits for a 3:30 p.m. match.

LAST TIME OUT
The Salve Regina women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision in Quincy, Mass., against Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opponent Eastern Nazarene College. Shealyn FitzPatrick won in doubles with Cate McGee, and then won in singles to earn two of the three Seahawk points. Darcy Carlin earned the other Seahawk point with her team-leading fourth doubles victory.

SEAHAWKS NOTES FROM THE NEST
After blanking Becker, 9-0, Salve Regina has dropped its last four outings to dip to 2-8 on the season. 

Laura Krick has played the majority of matches in the top spot for the Seahawks and boasts a 3-5 mark. Darcy Carlin, who has played on the third, fourth and fifth courts, owns the most singles wins for Salve Regina, with a 4-6 mark. 

In doubles, Krick and Erin Stangel have been the most successful Seahawks team with a 3-6 ledger as the team's top tandem.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk improved to above .500, 5-4, thanks to its third straight win, a 7-2 victory over Lesley, Monday night. 

The Rams ace, Delaney Dunlap, matches the team's record in singles play at 5-4. Danlyn Medou, meanwhile, owns the best singles ledger with a 6-2 mark on the fifth (3-2) and sixth (3-0) courts, respectively. 

The twosome of Dunlap and Keely Hardy are unbeaten in the second spot on the doubles sport. The junior, sophomore partnership is 5-0. Ahilya Malhoutra and Medou are also undefeated in doubles action as the freshman and sophomore are 3-0. 

INSIDE THE SERIES
The series started 34 years ago and Salve Regina currently leads, 3-2. First four meetings came in an 11-year period (1983-1993) before resuming last season in Winchester, Mass. The Rams won the match, 6-3, at the Winchester Indoor Lawn Tennis Courts.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Suffolk returns to its conference slate as it continues its road trip with a trek to Hartford, Connecticut, Saturday, Oct. 7, for a showdown at Saint Joseph (Conn.) at 12 p.m. Salve Regina finishes its fall schedule against Johnson & Wales University on Sunday, October 15 (11 a.m.) in a combination match with men's tennis teams from both schools (at Rhode Island College in Providence, R.I.).
