Seahawks wrap regular season with shutout

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University women's soccer team shutout visiting Suffolk University 2-0 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action and the final game of the regular season.

INSIDE THE MATCHUP

Records: SRU (7-9-2, 4-3-2 CCC), SUF (4-9-3, 1-6-2 CCC)
Series and Streaks: In just the second all-time meeting the series is now tied 1-1.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Perachi scored on a penalty shot while Galante drove in a shot from just outside the 18 on a free-kick.
  • Georgia Drake stopped eight shots and earned the win while Reagan Moffat stopped five shots in the second half for Salve Regina.
  • Maddie Brooke suffers the loss for the Rams to fall to 0-4-0 on the year after making nine saves. Sophia Barker stopped 11 shots in the second half for Suffolk.
  • Salve Regina led 35-18 in shots and 22-13 in shots on goal.
  • The Seahawks held a 7-4 edge in corners.
