WHAT'S NEXT?
Winner advances to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) semifinal on Wednesday, November 6, hosted by higher seed.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Gordon women's soccer finished the 2019 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) regular season with a 7-1 league (13-3-3 overall) record to capture the CCC Regular-Season Championship and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming CCC Championship Tournament.

As the No. 1 seed, the Fighting Scots receive a bye in the first round of the tournament. Gordon is looking to return to the CCC Championship match after having a streak of three-straight championship appearances snapped last season. This year's team has been spectacular scoring a league-best 50 goals while allowing a league-low 17. In conference play, the Fighting Scots posted five shutouts and never conceded more than two goals.

Roger Williams will be the No. 2 seed in this year's bracket after a 5-2-1 CCC season (12-7-1 overall) and will host one of three quarterfinal matches on Saturday, Nov. 2. The University of New England (5-3-0 CCC, 10-5-2 overall) and Western New England (4-3-1 CCC, 8-9-2 overall) will be the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds, respectively, and serve as the other two quarterfinal hosts.

In the quarterfinals the Hawks will host No. 7 seed Wentworth (2-4-2 CCC, 6-11-2 overall) at 11 a.m., the Nor'easters matchup with No. 6 seed Salve Regina (4-4-0 CCC, 9-10-0 overall) at 3:30 p.m., and the Golden Bears meet No. 5 seed Endicott (4-3-1 CCC, 9-7-1 overall) at 2 p.m.

Both WNE and Endicott finished the regular season with 4-3-1 records and 13 points in the conference standings, meaning the league's tiebreaking procedure was needed to determine seeding. The Golden Bears were awarded the higher seed by virtue of their 1-0 head-to-head win over the Gulls in their regular-season meeting.

Following the quarterfinals, the three remaining teams will advance to the CCC Semifinals to join the top-seeded Scots on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Gordon will play the winner of the WNE-Endicott match, while the other two quarterfinal winners meet in the other semifinal. Game times for those matches will be announced following the first round.

The two semifinal winners will advance to compete in the 2019 CCC Women's Soccer Championship match on Saturday, Nov. 9. The winner of the title match will be named the 2019 CCC Women's Soccer Tournament Champion and earn the conference's automatic qualifier into the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.
