NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina freshman Abby McMackin (Walpole, Mass.) has been selected as a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Year for women's soccer and joins her senior teammate Jessica Broadhurst (Scarborough, Maine) on the all-conference squad. Nine different institutions that sponsor women's soccer from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) were represented on the 2015 All-CCC Women's Soccer Team.

McMackin has been an invaluable addition to the Seahawks squad helping lead the program to a CCC Championship berth for the first time since 2012. McMackin enters the upcoming CCC Championship leading all Salve Regina players with 10 goals, 23 points and two game-winning goals. She not only ranks as her team's top offensive performer, but sits high atop the CCC leaderboards as well. Among all CCC players, McMackin ranks fourth in goals scored and total points.

Broadhurst plays back and has led a defensive effort for the Seahawks posting shutouts in the final four games of the season (3-0-1). The senior gets the call on most corner kick opportunities, assisting on two goals this season including an overtime game-winner against Fitchburg State (Sep. 29). Broadhurst also has scored two goals this season, one on a penalty kick.

Salve Regina (9-8-1, 4-4-1 CCC) earned the fifth seed and plays at fourth-seeded Endicott College (8-7-2, 5-3-1 CCC) on Saturday at 3 p.m. The Seahawks defeated the Gulls, 1-0, last Saturday for only the second victory in 23 all-time meetings.
