CCC Rookie of the Week: Abby McMackin

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University freshman Abby McMackin (Walpole, Mass.) as its rookie of the week for women's soccer (September 14-20).

Rookie of the Week - McMackin collected her sixth goal of the season, tied for the CCC lead, in the Seahawks' 3-2 win at Gordon. After falling behind 2-0 midway through the first half, McMackin's unassisted marker in the 52nd minute kicked off a three-goal rally that solidified Salve Regina's first CCC victory of the year and evened the Seahawks' overall record at 3-3.

Salve Regina (3-3, 1-1 CCC) continues its four-game road trip when it travels on Tuesday to face Bridgewater State University (7 p.m.) before returning to Reynolds Field on Thursday for the second home game of the season (v. Worcester State University at 3:30 p.m.).
