Gina Richard- CCC Rookie of the Week // Jan. 22-28

BEVERLY, Mass. (Monday, January 29, 2024)  Freshman Gina Richard of Salve Regina women's ice hockey has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the week for January 22-28.

Last week Richard achieved her first collegiate hat trick in game one of a two-game series against Nichols College. Richard scored the Seahawks' first, second and fourth goals in the 4-2 victory. Two days later in game two, Richard netted Salve Regina's second goal of the evening for a 2-0 shutout against the Bison. Richard leads the team in goals scored this season with 13 and has made five assists for 18 total points.

"Gina has been really shooting the puck with confidence lately," said head women's ice hockey coach David Lun. "She has been getting to areas where she can utilize one of her best weapons, helping to really lead out offense."

This Friday, February 2, the Seahawks make the trip to Milton, Massachusetts for a CCC matchup against Curry College at 7 p.m.
