Gina Richard- CCC Rookie of the Week // Nov. 27-Dec. 3

BEVERLY, Mass. (Monday, December 4, 2023) Freshman Gina Richard has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference women's ice hockey rookie of the week for November 27-December 3.

Last week Richard scored the game winning goal in the 4-0 Curry College shutout that took place on Sunday, December 3. At 3:53 into the second period Richard sent the puck flying between the Curry posts for an unassisted goal. Richard was a contributor in both games against Curry resulting in a 2-0 week for the Seahawks.

The freshman from Northborough, Massachusetts made her collegiate debut in the team's first game of the season against Johnson & Wales on October 28. She scored her first goal as a Seahawk, and the team's first goal of the season, and she hasn't looked back since then. Richard has posted four goals and four assists for a total of eight points this season. She has been a contributor in all ten competitions this year.

"Gina has made an impact from day one since she has gotten to campus," recalled head coach David Lun. "Her work ethic is unrivaled and is beginning to pay off with stats and accolades. She is very deserving of rookie of the week with more to come."

The team takes on the Endicott College Gulls on Saturday, December 9 at 1 p.m. in Beverly, Massachusetts. The Gulls host the Seahawks on their home ice at the Raymond J. Bourque Arena.
