CCC Rookie of the Week: Riley Esposito

Riley Esposito was named CCC Rookie of the Week.

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University freshman forward Riley Esposito (Enfield, Conn) as its Rookie of the Week for women's ice hockey.

Esposito had a pair of multi-point games for Salve Regina as the Seahawks swept a home-and-home series against non-conference opponent Worcester State. Both wins were 4-1 victories. On Friday (Nov. 11), Esposito helped start the Seahawks' scoring as she registered an assist on Salve's first goal. She then scored a third-period goal that proved to be the game-winner. When Salve welcomed Lancers to their home ice, Esposito potted two more goals, giving her three goals and one assists for the week.

"Super excited for Riley's rookie of the week award," said head coach David Lun. "It's well deserved. She's working hard and coming with the right attitude to the rink every morning. I'm sure this will be the first of many articles written on her accomplishments!"

Salve Regina (2-2-0, 0-2-0 CCC) hosts the University of New England on Friday, November 18, in a CCC matchup at 7 p.m.
