NEWPORT, R.I. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) East Women's Ice Hockey has selected Salve Regina University junior forward Danielle Phalon (Stoneham, Mass.) as its Player of the Week.

Phalon was once again a major part of Salve Regina's offensive output as the team scored back-to-back 4-0 shutouts against Nichols and New England College. With two goals and three assists, Phalon was a part of five of the Seahawks' eight goals over the weekend. Phalon now leads the team in scoring with 16 goals and eight assists for 24 total points.

Colleen Marcik also made honor roll for her performance during the week. Marcik came close to matching her season high for saves, collecting 41, in a difficult loss to ninth-ranked Amherst. Marcik bounced back and posted back-to-back shutouts in two 4-0 wins over Nichols and New England College. On the week, the sophomore netminder totaled 100 saves. Marcik now has four shutouts on the year and improves her record to 13-6-1 in net for the Seahawks.

The Seahawks have won 10 straight against ECAC Women's East opponents and will wrap up the regular season this week on the road versus Saint Anselm on Friday followed by Saint Michael's on Saturday.
