Soucy runs personal best at Western New England

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.-- The Salve Regina men's cross country team competed at the Western New England Invitational on Saturday. Freshman, Gianni Soucy ran a personal best time of 32:31 for 8,000 meters. 

Last year Shane BehnTy Gallagher and Patrick Voli all competed at the Western New England Invitational. Behn finished 32nd in 30:41.7, Gallagher finished 37th in 31:12.5 and Voli came in 38th with a time of 31:13.0. 

Jacob Lehmann Duke from Williams College ran the course in 25:16, the fastest time of the day. The top three finishers were all representing Williams and the Ephs won the meet with 17 points.

The Seahawks are off next weekend but will return to action on Saturday, October 28 for the NEWMAC Championships in Northampton, Mass. The race is hosted by Smith College and will feature a course that the Seahawks saw earlier in the season at the Smith College Invitational.
