CCC Runner/Rookie of Week: Sean Hughes

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University freshman Sean Hughes (Old Saybrook, Conn.) recorded a ninth-place finish (26:53) among a field of 275 runners at the Pop Crowell Invitational at Gordon. Bates College, ranked No. 4 in the most recent NCAA Division III cross country rankings, won the meet. Hughes finished just two seconds behind Bates' No. 3 runner. In a race that included nearly every Commonwealth Coast Conference cross country team, Hughes was the top CCC finisher.
