NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw with Suffolk University in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action to wrap up the regular season.

  • Salve Regina honored its class of 2023 before the game. Nathan Costantino, Kasey Lang, Troy Mauer, Michael Manousos, John Reichert, and Sam Winiarski were each join by friends and family pregame for a special ceremony commemorating their time in a Seahawks uniform.
  • Kasey Lang netted the first goal of his career in the 13th to give the Seahawks an early lead.
  • Mauer made four saves to pick up the tie and move to 0-0-2 on the year for Salve Regina while Aian Figueira stopped four shots in the second half.
  • Xander Balog made 14 saves to improve to 9-5-4 between the pipes for Suffolk.
  • Salve Regina outshot the Rams 23-9.
  • The Seahawks held a narrow 6-5 edge in corner kicks.

Salve Regina earns the fifth seed and will be on the road to begin the CCC Tournament on Saturday, October 29, versus this same Suffolk squad.
