Bio

Coach Haddeland joins Salve Regina on his second appointment as the Offensive Coordinator.  From 2017-2022, He was the Head Coach of Bishop Hendricken High School.  In that short time, Haddeland guided the Hawks to 3 State Semi-Final games. He coached 7 All-State student-athletes, in his time at Hendricken. 

Haddeland was first hired in 2012, as Salve’s Offensive Coordinator.  He believes in a fast tempo offensive, in which players are selfless and believe in the first “we” team approach.  With his Offensive philosophy implemented Coach Haddeland’s offense thrived.  Coach Haddeland was then elevated to Associate Head Coach until his departure.

In 2014, Coach Haddeland helped lead Seahawks to a 15-5 record and the New England ECAC Championship as their Offensive Coordinator. The Seahawks posted the best seasons in program history; the Seahawks set single season school records in games played (20), points (409), points per game (20.45), goals (268), goals per game (13.4), assists (141), assists per game (7.05), man up goals (37), saves (254), ground balls (816), and most importantly, wins (15).  

Haddeland was a standout midfielder and attackman for Springfield College in Massachusetts from 1998-2002.  David played on the Pride’s 2001 team that made it to the NCAA quarterfinals. Coach Haddeland brings 19 years of coaching experience to Salve Regina at all different levels.   

David, a native of New York, attended Mahopac High School, where he led his lacrosse team as an All American in 1998, 2 time All League and 2 time All Section 1 player, assisting to win the New York Class A State Championship in 1996. After college, he continued his passion for lacrosse, leading the Mahopac High School Men’s Varsity Lacrosse team as Co-Head Coach alongside his brother for 4 years. Haddeland produced 4 All American and 23 All Section players in his 4 years at Mahopac.  David won the 2011 Class A Section 1 Championship, Regional Championship and Section 1 Coach of the Year award.

Haddeland is a physical education teacher at Bishop Hendricken high school, as well as a Varsity Football Assistant Coach.  Coach Haddeland has helped guide the Hawks to 11 State Championships.

David resides in Warwick, with his wife, Siobhan an Interior Designer and Partner for ABI Design and their two sons Finn and Cormac.
