BREAKDOWN:

Emmett Edwards of the Wheaton Lyons was the first to strike but thanks to Daniel Naglieri and Max Beauchamp, who both scored in the first quarter, it was a 2-2 game with 15 minutes gone. The Seahawks took control in the second period when Beauchamp scored again twice. His second goal, a snipe from the top of the Seahawks attack area, went over the head of Lyons' Connor Almstrom. The Lyons did have one success in the second period, following a Salve Regina cross-checking infraction which gave Wheaton a man-up advantage. The Lyons trailed 4-3 going into halftime.

Liam Cooney got the second half going, but Wheaton found a new gear, netting three consecutive goals to end the third period and two in the beginning of the fourth period. Chris Koltzan put a stop to Wheaton's five-goal run when he snuck a goal in from beside the net, sending the ball over the shoulder of the Lyons' goalie. Christopher Bethoney got in the last Seahawk goal of the day. With 24 second to go Max Beauchamp grabbed a ground ball, the Seahawks briefly turned the ball over but regained control, racing down to Wheaton's defensive end. The clock ran out in Wheaton's favor for an 8-7 final score.
