Kings Point, NY - Salve Regina improves to 2-1 on the season beating the United States Merchant Marine Academy 15-11 on the road.
The Seahawks look solid in their third game of the season beating a talented Mariners ballclub. Salve opened the game with two quick goals followed by three for the Mariners. With 12 second left in the first, tied at four, Liam Cooney scored off a feed from Max Beauchamp to make it 5-4. The Seahawks never trailed again. The second quarter saw the Seahawks again edge the home team by a goal to take a two goal lead into half at 7-5. The second half saw the blue and green pull ahead in faceoffs, shots, and goals taking an 11-6 lead heading into the final frame. Both teams traded goals in the fourth, but the Seahawks never lead by less than three in the fourth. The Seahawks faceoff men were 19-29 overall. Salve lead in shots 47-41.
