Beginning the day in net for the Seahawks was Cayden Bailey and his counterpart, Billy Girard stood in between the posts for the University of New England. Both starting goalies found themselves in the action for the full 65 minutes. To being the contest, each team expressed a similar cadence of play, both posting nine shots on goal during the first period. The 0-0 standstill wasn't broken until the second period, when Dominic Murphy poked it in for a 1-0 game in favor of the Nor'easters. It took the Seahawks the remainder of the second period plus ten minutes of the third period to counteract the Nor'easters' attack. However, following a University of New England boarding infraction the extra skater advantage led to a Seahawk goal off the stick of Garrett Szeremley (from Matthew Fawcett and Logan Calder). The 1-1 game quickly moved to overtime but 65 minutes ticked down and the game concluded as a 1-1 tie. For CCC tie breaking purposes the game move to a shootout and thanks to goals from Logan Calder and Joseph Kile, Salve Regina toped the University of New England in the shootout.
