NO. DARTMOUTH, Mass. (September 9, 2021) - On her 22nd birthday, senior Hannah Bedrosian (Seekonk, Mass.) scored two goals to lead Salve Regina University field hockey to a 2-1 road triumph over UMass Dartmouth at Cressy Field.

UMass Dartmouth (1-3) tallied 18 shots, with nine on-goal, and five penalty corners, while Salve Regina (3-0) finished with 19 shots, 13 on the cage, and nine penalty corners. Fifth-year senior Brittany Perry scored for the Corsairs. Senior Hannah Bedrosian picked up both goals for the Seahawks. Freshman goalkeeper Hannah Trombly finished with 10 saves.

Salve Regina started the contest with three consecutive shots and a penalty corner. They went ahead, 1-0, on their fourth shot of the first quarter when junior Allisen Trunfio found Bedrosian for the score at the 3:37 mark.

UMass Dartmouth then put pressure on the Seahawks defense, ripping five shots over the next six minutes. The Corsairs finally tied the game when Perry scored off a rebound from the goalkeeper with 10:06 on the clock.

The second quarter was back-and-forth as UMassD had seven shots, compared to six for Salve. Junior Mya Amaral fired two early shots that were saved, while senior Hannah Niemi, and freshman Harley Hodge each had their shots saved as well.

Salve Regina scored the game-winning goal in the third quarter. Both teams traded shots until senior Eliza Timms (Agawam, Mass.) found Bedrosian for the score to make it a 2-1 Seahawks advantage with 1:31 remaining in the third.

Amaral had one more shot that was saved in the fourth. Salve Regina then controlled the possession in the fourth and ran out the clock. Senior goalkeeper Olivia Butler (Sandy Hook, Conn.) made eight saves for her third win of the season.
