NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University senior Amber Cody (Pawling, N.Y.) earned a selection to the first team all-region squad in voting by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA).

Cody enjoyed a career year as a senior, leading the Seahawks for the second straight season in scoring (22 goals in 18 games; 1.22 goals per game) which included a program-tying five-goal effort during a win at Gordon College. The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Offensive Player of the Year also led the league in assists (nine) while ranking second in goals and points (53). She'll graduate in May 2018 and ranks second all-time on the school's record books for career assists (25), third for career goals (43), and fourth for career points (111).

"To be recognized with the other top players in our region is a great way for Amber to end her Salve career. She had an outstanding year offensively and is very deserving of this honor." - Salve Regina head coach Jennifer Foster
