This marks the ninth consecutive year that the Salve Regina field hockey team has earned this honor.

"To be recognized for the ninth year in a row for the team academic award is a great accomplishment for our program," said Seahawk head coach Jennifer Foster. "To have more than half of our team individually recognized is another wonderful achievement. Our players excel at balancing the academic and athletic demands at Salve Regina. The 15 individual players recognized are strong examples that you can be successful on the field and in the classroom."

In order to be eligible for the individual honors, student-athletes are required to achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2015-16 academic year.

Four Seahawks earn the distinction all four years - Cain, Clinger, Grover, Tepper.

To be recognized for the academic team award, field hockey clubs must compile a combined GPA of at least 3.00 or better during the first semester of the 2015-16 academic year.

Salve Regina was among 145 Division III schools to receive the honor, joining five schools representing the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC). The 15 Seahawk players were among 60 in the league, and Salve Regina had the most from any school.
