NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University football honored its 29 seniors and 12 graduate students before defeating Husson University 24-10 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday at Toppa Field.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Graduate student running back Joey Mauriello rushed for 134 yards and two tocuhdowns to cap his record breaking career at Salve Regina.
    • Mauriello ranks first all-time in program history for rushing yards (4,275) and second in touchdowns (43).
  • Salve Regina's defense did not allow a touchdown, led by eight tackles and a sack from Zachary Ludemann.
  • Jack Maguire completed 24 of 31 passes for 311 yards and a touchdown.
  • Hayden Hulme caught ten passes for 117 yards and a touchdown while Max DeVito hauled in eight passes for a game-high 138 yards.
  • Salve Regina used a 14-play, 84 yard drive, to ice the game. They drove from their own 16-yard line taking up over eight minutes, capped by a Mauriello touchdown run to seal the victory with under two minutes remaining.
