NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University football team opened its season with a 7-0 shutout victory over Norwich University in non-conference action Saturday afternoon on Toppa Field.

  • Evan Laroche (Bellingham, Mass.) led all rushers with 47 yards on 11 carries for Salve Regina.
  • Jack Zingaro (Newtown, Conn.) and Nick Bostrom (Norwell, Mass.) each had interceptions for the Seahawks.
  • Trevor Chase led the Cadets attack with eight catches for 60 yards.
