CCC Football Offensive Player of the Week: Joey Mauriello

Newport, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University senior running back Joey Mauriello (Colts Neck, N.J.) as its Offensive Player of the Week for football (Week ending Sep. 5).

Offensive Player of the Week - Mauriello put together a very impressive running performance for Salve Regina on Friday (Sept. 3), collecting 261 yard and two scores against Norwich. Mauriello rushed 34 times for 7.7 yards per carry as the Seahawks defeated the Cadets, 38-0. His 261 yards were just four shy of a school record with his longest run going for 38.

Salve Regina (1-0) returns to Toppa Field for the first time in 665 days when it hosts MIT in another non-conference matchup on Saturday, September 11, at 1 p.m.
