NEWPORT, R.I. (January 24, 2022) - Seven straight wins for Salve Regina University men's ice hockey as they face-off on Monday with the University of New England to kick off the week for the Seahawks.

MONDAY (Jan. 24)
Salve Regina men's ice hockey (11-4-0, 9-2-0 CCC) has won seven straight games, and hosts the University of New England in a re-scheduled matchup from January 14. Salve Regina defeated Western New England University 5-2 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday night for its seventh straight win. The Seahawks are now 26-11-1 all-time versus the Golden Bears and have won six in a row in the series. Mitch Walinski scored twice and had an assist to move into first place in the CCC for scoring on the season (10g, 11a). Levi Mitchell made 19 saves to grab his first career win between the pipes and improve to 1-1-0 on the season.

TUESDAY (Jan. 25)
Salve Regina women's ice hockey (3-9-1, 2-5-1 CCC) split with Western New England University over the weekend with both teams winning on the other's ice. Jillian Egan netted the game-winning goal for the Seahawks as it defeated the Golden Bears, 2-1, Saturday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action. Salve Regina was able to dominate much of the first period of play when the Seahawks took 15 first-period shots on goaltender Rieley Jessie-Gerelli. Emma Breen opened the scoring for Salve Regina as she was able to rip a snapshot from the blueline on net that found its way past the glove of Jessie-Gerelli and into the goal to give the Seahawks the 1-0 lead. The Seahawks face off against the Colonels of Curry College three times this week.

Seahawk women's basketball (6-7, 5-2 CCC) scored its second straight victory and first over University of New England in 10 years, 66-56, in a re-scheduled (from Jan. 6) Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup in Biddeford last Monday. Ashley Rourke led the Seahawks with 16 points and Morgan Shuey dished out five assists. Suffolk visited the Rodgers Recreation Center on Wednesday and took a 72-57 decision before the Seahawks were postponed against Curry on the weekend. The Seahawks look to extend their 10-game win streak against the Leopards when they travel to Boston on Tuesday to tip off against Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Salve Regina men's basketball (12-4, 7-2 CCC) sweeps the season series with Curry College, although a 40-point win at home (89-49 on December 7) was followed by a four-point win (71-67) on the road on Saturday. Clay Brochu led all Seahawks with 16 points while Mikey Spencer and Cameron Collins both had 14 points apiece. The Seahawks have revenge on their mind when they face the Leopards on Tuesday night on Boston; Wentworth ended Salve Regina's season in 2020 with an 89-64 win at the Rodgers Recreation Center. THURSDAY (Jan. 27)
Salve Regina women's basketball re-schedules its home game with Gordon College from January 8. The Seahawks have won 22 of the last 25 meetings with the Fighting Scots.

FRIDAY (Jan. 28)
Salve Regina men's ice hockey matches with the Colonels again after winning in its first faceoff against former Seahawk Danny Eruzione on December 11.

SATURDAY (Jan. 29)
Salve Regina women's basketball welcomes the Nor'easters to the Rodgers Recreation Center.
