Robert Norton '08 - a two-time male athlete of the year at Salve Regina, Norton earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Year honors in men's tennis three times (2005, 2007, 2008). He becomes the first men's tennis player inducted in the school's athletic hall of fame after leading the Seahawks to four straight conference championships. The last two titles (2007, 2008) earned automatic bids to the NCAA Division III championships for Salve Regina where Norton posted an unblemished performance in singles play. In both NCAA appearances, Norton helped lead the Seahawks to first-round victories. Playing the top singles and doubles positions throughout his career, Norton posted the most singles victories (83 - second place has 51) and doubles wins (58) all-time. He owns the top three single-season singles win totals as well as the top single-season doubles victories number (shared 18 wins with Trey Van Buskirk as the duo traveled to La Jolla, Calif., in 2008 for the 119th Pacific Coast Men's Doubles Championships).
