Summary
The Salve Regina University women's volleyball team earned their second straight victory, and first conference win of the season by defeating Eastern Nazarene College 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-17) in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Wednesday night.

Series and Streaks
This was the 20th meeting all-time between the Seahawks and Lions. The Seahawks have now won 10 in a row to even the series at 10-10.

Three Stars of the Match
1 – Salve Regina junior Samantha Salwa (Ellington, Conn.) - had a match-high 34 assists to go with five digs, an ace, and two kills.
2 – Salve Regina junior Samantha Higgins (Coventry, R.I) - had nine kills with a .533 hitting percentage. She also added two blocks, two aces, a dig, and an assist.
3 – Salve Regina senior Kat Mendes (New Bedford, Mass.) - had a match-high 10 kills as well as seven digs and a block.

Turning Point
The Seahawks used a 6-0 run in the first set to open the gap, taking a 15-6 lead. Overall the Seahawks finished the first set on a 16-6 run to go up 1-0 in the match. The Lions never led in the match as the Seahawks would go on for a sweep.

Quick Hits

  • Megan Parham (Tulsa, Okla.) led the Seahawks with 11 digs.
  • Lauryl Berger (Laurel, Del.) led the Lions with 15 assists while Madisen Robinson (West Grove, Pa.) and Oksana DiCamillo (Eighty-Four, Pa.) both totaled 11 digs to lead Eastern Nazarene.
  • The Lions committed 18 errors in the match to the Seahawks 14.
  • The Seahawks posted doubled digit kills in each set (12, 17, 14) while the Lions never made double digits in kills in any set.
  • The Lions tied the game three times, 1-1 and 2-2 in the second set, and 4-4 in the third, but never could take a lead.
