Three Stars of the Day
1 – Salve Regina freshman Annie Donahue (Chelmsford, Mass.) had 12 kills, and five blocks in the Seahawks sweep of Rhode Island College.
2 – Rhode Island Col. sophomore Jilian Ward (Coventry, R.I.) collected 24 kills and 13 digs over two matches for the Anchorwomen.
3 – Salve Regina sophomore Cassidy Trablicy (Phoenix, Ariz.) totaled 19 kills, 15 digs, with a swing percentage of .404 on the day.

Key Stat of the Day
Salve Regina went 2-0 on the day in part because it committed the fewest errors between the three teams, only committing 30.

Turning Points

Salve Regina was trailing Rhode Island College 17-16 late in the second set as the Anchorwomen were trying to even the match at a set apiece. Three straight errors from the Anchorwomen and kills by Annie Donahue and Kat Mendes (New Bedford, Mass.) gave Salve Regina the lead forcing RIC to call for time. After the timeout the Anchorwomen got a point back on a kill from Courtney Lambrese (Smithfield, R.I.) to make it 21-19, but the Seahawks rattled off four more points to close out the set and take a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.

The Anchorwomen led two sets to none against Mount Holyoke but found themselves down 19-15 in the third set as the Lyons fought to avoid a sweep. Rhode Island College then went on a 10-3 run to close out the set and the match. The Lyons did not help themselves by committed four errors in that span as RIC earned the sweep and a 1-1 record on the day.

Mount Holyoke again found itself down two sets to none, but in control of a third set, this time versus Salve Regina. The Lyons led 17-13 after a kill by joy Moran (Sante Fe, N.M.) and were trying to force the first fourth set of the day. However errors continued to plague the Lyons. They committed six during a 12-4 run for the Seahawks, including a 7-0 run with Morgan VanderBaan (Douglas, Mass.) at the stripe as the Seahawks completed the rally to earn their second sweep of the day.

Quick Hits

• The Seahawks remain undefeated against the Lyons, now 2-0 all-time, and they narrow their series with the Anchorwomen, now only trailing 7-6 in that all-time series.
• Megan Parham (Tulsa, Okla.) led the Seahawks and all players with 33 digs on the afternoon.
• Sydney Puffer (Kittery, Maine) led all players with 7 service aces on the afternoon including six against the match against Lyons.
