NEWPORT, R.I. - For the second consecutive season, the Salve Regina women's volleyball team has earned a spot in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship tournament. The Seahawks have been named the No. 5 seed, and will host a quarterfinal round match versus No. 4 Eastern Connecticut State University this Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The Seahawks are enjoying their most successful year in program history. The team has set a program record with 17 wins so far this season and earned its first-ever trip to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship finals last week.

The Seahawks are led by a group of five All-CCC selections, including senior captain Megan Clancy (Chelmsford, Mass.), and sophomores Katelyn Beauregard (Dartmouth, Mass.), Jennifer Duggan (Merrimack, N.H.), Erin McGloin (West Islip, N.Y.), and Taylor Violet (Tiverton, R.I.).

The Warriors will enter Wednesday with a 19-13 record and are led by senior Katie Wilson (Pittsburgh, Calif.).

Wednesday's match will mark the 11th all-time meeting between the Seahawks and Warriors with ECSU winning each of the previous 10 head-to-head matchups. The Warriors have earned a pair of victories over the Seahawks this year, including a 3-2 win at the Trinity Invitational and 3-1 victory during the Crabtree Invitational earlier this season.
