Clancy, Duggan earn CCC weekly honors

NEWPORT, R.I. - Senior Megan Clancy (Chelmsford, Mass.) and sophomore Jennifer Duggan (Merrimack, N.H.) were each honored with weekly awards by the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) on Monday afternoon. Clancy was announced as the CCC Libero of the Week, while Duggan was selected as the CCC Offensive Player of the Week.

Clancy and Duggan helped lead the Seahawks to a 2-0 week, recording a pair of conference victories while dropping just one set. Salve Regina earned a 3-0 win over Wentworth and a 3-1 victory versus UNE to capture the No. 3 seed in the CCC Championship tournament.

Clancy averaged an impressive 7.14 digs per set while recording a .971 reception percentage. She compiled a match-high 24 digs versus Wentworth and then returned later in the week to lead all players with 26 digs against UNE.

Duggan led the Seahawks with 3.86 kills per set this week, compiling a .345 hitting percentage. She led all players with 15 kills during the 3-0 win over Wentworth and recorded a double-double in a four set win over the University of New England where she put up 12 kills and 10 digs.

The No. 3 Seahawks will host No. 6 Wentworth during the CCC Championships quarterfinals at the Rodgers Recreation Center on Wednesday night (7 p.m.)
