NEWPORT, R.I. – Salve Regina University senior Julianne Barry (Randolph, Mass.) has been selected as a member of the Capital One Academic All-District volleyball team. Barry will now be included on the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America® ballot.

Barry has earned success both on and off the court over the past four years at Salve Regina. In the classroom, she has compiled a sparkling 3.92 grade point average while working toward a bachelor's degree in elementary and special education. On the court, she set the program's all-time record for career attack percentage (.258), total blocks (427), solo blocks (277), and block assists (150).

This year alone, Barry led the Seahawks to their most successful season in program history, as the team set the school record with 16 wins while earning their first-ever post season victory and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) tournament berth. She finished sixth in the entire nation with an average of 1.46 blocks per set, leading the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) with a Salve Regina season record 150 total blocks. As a result, she was named to the All-CCC first team and was selected as the Conference's Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year.
