Ratcliff added to coaching staff

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University volleyball head coach Lindsay Marshall has announced the addition of Richard Ratcliff to her coaching staff.

 

Ratcliff is a member of the Newport Volleyball Club as well as the New England Volleyball Association. He joins Richard Baumert on the coaching staff; Baumert returns for his second season as assistant coach at SRU.

 

"I'm excited to add Rich to my staff. He has a lot of coaching experience and has a solid educational background," said Marshall, who begins her first season as head coach of the Seahawks after serving as an assistant last season. "His volleyball knowledge and enthusiasm for the game is going to have a great impact on the volleyball program at Salve Regina."

 

A 1992 graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Ratcliff earned his master's degree from Providence in 2006. He has been employed as a physical education and health teacher at The Kent Center – Eleanor Briggs School since 1998. He served as head girl's track and field coach at Rodgers High School from 1993-98.

 

The Seahawks begin the season on Sept. 4 when they travel to Eastern Connecticut State to face ECSU at 11 a.m.
