NEWPORT, R.I. - Junior Julianne Barry (Randolph, Mass.) and freshman Jackie Cinquemani (East Islip, N.Y.) (right) each tallied 11 kills to lead the Salve Regina University volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Eastern Nazarene in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) action Wednesday night at Rodgers Recreation Center.

Freshman Clare Adams (New Concord, Ohio) added seven kills and 12 digs for the Seahawks, who snapped a two-match losing streak and improved to 5-11 overall and 3-3 in the conference. Junior Kaitlyn Yoder (Smithburg, Md.) notched eight kills to lead the Lions (3-16, 1-5 TCCC), who dropped their fourth-consecutive match to the Seahawks.

The Seahawks won game one, 25-17, behind five kills from Cinquemani and three each from Barry and senior Lisa Zabel (Madison, Conn.). Salve Regina posted a .370 hitting percentage in the frame, compared to -.045 from the Lions, who were paced by Yoder with three kills.

In game two, the Seahawks fell behind 16-8 before reeling off 17 of the next 25 points to grab a 2-0 lead in the match by virtue of a 25-23 win. Cinquemani led the Seahawks with four kills while Barry registered all three of her kills during the Seahawks late run. Yoder had three kills while senior Amber Burns (Fall River, Mass.) and sophomore Rachel Mun (Cambridge, Mass.) each tallied three for Eastern Nazarene.

Barry led all players with five kills in the third and decisive set, which the Seahawks captured 25-13, while Adams had four. Freshman Cayla Clinkscale (Wichendon, Mass.) had three kills for ENC.

Freshman Kelsey Stafstrom (Westford, Mass.) led all Seahawks with 18 assists while ENC's Mun tallied 19 in a losing effort. Sophomore Megan Clancy (Chelmsford, Mass.) notched a match-high 13 digs for SRU while Yoder led the Lions with nine.

"Our goal was to keep our home winning streak alive. We only have six home matches and we want to take all of them," said Salve Regina head coach Lindsay Marshall. "All of our freshman came off the bench and played well. Stafstrom set very well and Jackie put away 11 kills without an error. We had some ups and downs, but we battled through them and came away with another conference win."

Marshall added, "The girls are rallying behind all of the support from our fans. It's definitely helped us gain momentum throughout the match, so we want to thank our fans for coming out and supporting us."

The Seahawks return to action on Thursday when they host non-conference foe Lasell at 7 p.m. The Lions play a tri-match at WPI with Anna Maria on Saturday.
