NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team defeated Salve Regina, 3-1, Tuesday night in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference quarterfinal contest. The third seeded Chargers will travel to second seed Endicott for a semifinal match on Thursday at 7:00 pm.

The Chargers won by scores of 25-23, 21-25, 25-15, and 25-17 and improve to 19-13 overall, while Salve Regina finishes the season at 12-17.

The first set was back and forth featuring 11 ties and six lead changes. Salve Regina was ahead 23-22 before Colby-Sawyer rallied for three straight points on two Michelle Doody (Franklin, Mass.) kills and an ace from Stef Turner (Boxborough, Mass.).

Salve Regina had four service aces, while the Chargers had five service errors in the second set, which led to a 25-21 win for the Seahawks.

Colby-Sawyer won the match by winning sets three and four holding Salve to -.034 and -.017 hitting, respectively.

The Chargers were led by Doody's match-high 15 kills. She also added 19 digs. Turner added 10 kills, seven block assists, and hit a match best .455. TCCC Libero of the Year, Ally Le-Bruno (Medfield, Mass.) tallied a team-high 37 digs. Kristin Sawyer (Walpole, Mass.) had 35 assists and 12 digs.

Salve Regina was led by 10 kills from junior Julianne Barry (Randolph, Mass.). Senior Lisa Zabel (Madison, Conn.) had a solid match with six kills, 15 assists, and 10 digs. Sophomore Megan Clancy (Chelmsford, Mass.) recorded a match-high 38 digs. Freshman Clare Adams (New Concord, Ohio) tallied eight kills and 17 digs.
