Bio

Kacie Gallo begins her 14th season with the women's track & field program and first as associate head coach in 2022-23.

Gallo, a 2008 graduate of Salve Regina, currently serves as the head coach for both the boys cross country and girls indoor track team at Rogers High School in Newport. She also works as an assistant coach for the boys outdoor track team and as an assistant track & field coach at Rodgers. Gallo holds a bachelor's degree as a double major in elementary education and special education.

"I am very excited to have the opportunity to be back at Salve coaching track and field," said Gallo. "I hope to help the student-athletes grow by not only improving in their specific events, but also to develop the skills and qualities that will help them make important contributions after leaving Salve. I want them to have a positive and memorable experience like the one I had when I ran track at Salve."

While at Salve Regina, Gallo was a two-sport athlete, competing in both women's soccer and track & field. She served as President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) from 2006-08, received the Meghan Strathman Award in 2007, and was named The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Woman of the Year in 2008.

"Kacie is no stranger to Salve Regina. As a multi-sport athlete, Kacie consistently demonstrated her athleticism and leadership ability over her four years," said Seahawks head women’s track & field coach Matt Hird. "Our sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers enjoy her combination of enthusiasm, work ethic, enjoyment, and planning. We look forward to making an impact in conference competition under her leadership."
