Lions top Seahawks 6-3 in Newport
NEWPORT, R.I. - Visiting Eastern Nazarene defeated the Salve Regina University women's tennis team 6-3 in non-league action Monday afternoon.
Salve Regina (1-6, 1-4 CCC) grabbed its three victories No. 3 and 6 singles from Casey Farrell (Cumberland, R.I.) and Lily Gorman (South Yarmouth, Mass.) and at No. 3 doubles from Laura Krick (Gorton, Conn.) and Makenzie Sadler (Mystic, Conn.). Farrell came back to win after dropping the first set to freshman Magdalena Hubel. The Seahawks next play on Wednesday, October 2, when they travel to face Wentworth in a return to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action.
Eastern Nazarene (8-2) has won four straight matches and returns home to host Simmons this Saturday.
