Anchorwomen improve to 4-0 with sweep of Seahawks

NEWPORT, R.I. (September 9, 2019) -- The Rhode Island College women's tennis team improved to 4-0 with a sweep of Salve Regina University on the Seahawks' campus courts in Newport. It was the first match of the season for the Seahawks.

Salve Regina (0-1) almost spoiled the shutout as freshman Casey Farrell (Cumberland, R.I.) won her first set at fourth singles (6-2) before an injury during the second set forced her to retire. Rhode Island College (4-0) won every other set including a combined score of 24-4 in doubles action.

The Anchorwomen have won seven straight meetings with the Seahawks to take a 17-15 lead in the all-time series.
