ALL-CONFERENCE HISTORY

NEWPORT, R.I. (November 1, 2019) - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced its 2019 Women's Soccer All-Conference Teams and major award winners Friday afternoon. Salve Regina University had two freshmen, including Rookie of the Year Meagan McLaughlin (East Hampton, Conn.), a sophomore and a junior on the Third Team. Thirty-four student-athletes were selected as All-Conference honorees, including seven from CCC Regular-Season Champion Gordon which led the group.

Voting for the All-CCC Teams and major awards was conducted by the nine CCC head women's soccer coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.

The Fighting Scots also had two student-athletes earn major awards as Lexi Potter (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) repeated as Offensive Player of the Year and Kali Denty (Marshfield, Mass.) was named Defensive Player of the Year. University of New England goalkeeper Jenna Pannone (Prospect, Conn.) was also named Defensive Player of the Year. Salve Regina's Meagan McLaughlin (East Hampton, Conn.) picked up the Rookie of the Year honor and Endicott's Elizabeth Masucci (Norwell, Mass.) was named the CCC Scholar-Athlete. Fighting Scots head coach Chuck Breton earned his second straight CCC Coach of the Year honor, while his team and the University of New England were both given the Team Sportsmanship award.

Potter and Denty were two of five Fighting Scots named to the All-CCC First Team as they were picked at forward and goalkeeper, respectively. Their teammates Ashton Barkey (Parker, Colo.) and Devin Lacroix (Candia, N.H.) were both picked as All-CCC First Team midfielders, while McKenna Feller (Puyallup, Wash.) earned a spot on defense. Pannone was also an All-CCC First Team goaltender and was joined by her Nor'easter teammates Katie Beaudoin (Coventry, R.I.) at forward and Caroline Meuse (Hampton, N.H.) at back. The Roger Williams duo of Arianna Delli Carpini (Bedford Hills, N.Y.) at forward and Sammy Jost (Ringwood, N.J) at midfield joined Endicott defender Kadrianna Letts (Beverly, Mass.) to round out the First Team.

All four of Western New England's All-Conference selections were Second Teamers. They included forward Allison Bruehwiler (Old Saybrook, Conn.), midfielder Summer Hathaway (Colchester, Vt.), defender Kaeli Serafino (Ludlow, Mass.), and goalkeeper Alex Lemekha (Stamford, Conn.). The Gulls also had All-CCC Second Team selections at each field position as forward Larissa Cade (Middlefield, Conn.), midfielder Jaymie Caponigro (Swampscott, Mass.), and back Hannah Lederman (Natick, Mass.) were all recognized. Wentworth was the only other school with multiple Second Team selections with Jess Poratti (Essex Junction, Calif.) earning a spot at forward and Julie McKenna (West Hartford, Conn.) claiming one of the spaces on defense. Gordon forward Calla Ashley (Lancaster, Pa.), UNE midfielder Jessie Maywalt (Wall, N.J.), and Roger Williams defender Bailey Laviolette (Agawam, Mass.) completed the All-CCC Second Team.

There were 11 student-athletes who earned All-CCC Third Team recognition. The three forwards were McLaughlin and Carah Cote (Adams, Mass.) from Salve, plus Tayla Randall (Walpole, Mass.) from Curry. The midfield consisted of UNE's Alyssa Boilard (Wilbraham, Mass.), Wentworth's Molly Donahue (Quincy, Mass.), Roger Williams' Sara Nerwinski (Lawrenceville, N.J.), and Endicott's Chloe Waldron (Harwinton, Conn.). Nor'easter back Erica Dimmick (Sutton, Mass.) joined up with the Fighting Scots' Monet Marshall (Redmond, Wash.) and the Seahawks' Molly Leary (Portland, Conn.) to compose the Third Team defense with Salve keeper Jenna Park (Barrington, R.I.) protecting the goal.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

Meagan McLaughlin, Salve Regina

McLaughlin slid right into the starting lineup during her freshman campaign, making an immediate impact as Salve Regina's leading scorer in both goals (8) and points (20). She also had a team-high four assists. McLaughlin's numbers put her in the top five in both categories on the conference leaderboard as well. Her biggest game of the season came in a conference victory over Nichols in which she had the first multi-goal game of her career and added an assist for a total of five points. Two of the first-year striker's goals also decided the match as she recorded two game-winners on the year. McLaughlin picked up one weekly award this year as she was selected as the CCC Rookie of the Week in the week ending Sept. 22.
