SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (September 9, 2019) -- The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University freshman Jenna Park (Barrington, R.I.) as its rookie of the week for women's soccer (Sept. 2-8).

CCC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week - Park had to make a ton of stops this week as Salve Regina went 1-1 in non-league play. She opened the week playing 84 minutes against Worcester State. Park made 16 saves in the contest and surrendered only a single goal as the Seahawks earned a 5-4 win. She made nine saves in a contest against Rhode Island College later in the week, which her team dropped 3-1. For the week she posted a 2.07 goals-against average and an .862 save percentage.

"Jenna unknowingly had big shoes to fill this season stepping in as the starting goalkeeper," says fifth-year head coach Jane Walsh. "The fit couldn't be better. She's coachable, determined, and a true competitor. I think we've only seen the tip of the iceberg too. I'm excited to see what else Jenna can give us."

Salve Regina (2-1, 0-0 CCC) hosts Coast Guard on Thursday in a non-league contest.
