BIDDEFORD, Maine - Katie Beaudoin (Coventry, R.I.) put in two goals exactly three minutes apart during second-half action as the University of New England women's soccer team notched a 2-0 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) triumph over Salve Regina University on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 6) at Barbara J. Hazard Field.

Beaudoin went far-post for both tallies, which doubled her season total to four. First, she finished from the left side after a pass up the wing from Jessie Maywalt (Wall, N.J.) at the 57:20 mark, and then Caroline Wilson (Tiverton, R.I.) sent her up the right side in the 61st minute.

The Nor'easters are now 5-5-1 overall and 3-1 in the CCC, while the Seahawks slip back to 5-5 on the year and 2-2 in league outings.

UNE goalkeeper Jenna Pannone (Prospect, Conn.) turned her fifth start into win number five, making four saves in the shutout. Her counterpart, Carly Pala (Milford, Conn.), totaled six stops for the visitors.

Although the hosts had an 11-2 edge in shots during the 1st half, each side had near misses. UNE had a try cleared off the line by a Seahawks defender, and SRU's Abby McMackin (Walpole, Mass.) bounced a chip shot off the right post. The difference in attempts was 8-7 following halftime.
