NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University women's rugby senior Zoe Cockinos (Englewood, N.J.) has been named Rhino Player of the Month by the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO).

Seahawks wrap-up regular season with dominant win

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University women's rugby team finished up their regular season by winning their sixth game in a row. They beat visiting team, Wheaton College 82-5. Salve had a balanced attack but were again led by Erin Gunther who scored five tries and made six conversions. With the regular season over, Salve will take on Endicott next Sunday for the Colonial Coast Rugby Conference (CCRC) championship.
Streaking Seahawks win fifth straight

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - The Salve Regina University women's rugby team won its fifth consecutive match this weekend by host, UMass Dartmouth 67-0. Tremendous effort was put forth by all and many rookies got to see some playing time. Salve was led by Erin Gunther who scored six tries and made four conversations. Next Saturday, Salve will take on Wheaton at home for their last regular season match.
Seahawks win fourth straight

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University women's rugby team won its fourth game in a row on Saturday by dominating visiting University of Maine Farmington by a score of 77 to 14. Salve had a balanced attack with seven different players scoring. After the first few minutes, Salve settled in and played a great defensive game. Katie Simoniello ‘20 and Patricia Jurkowski ‘23 led the way with three tries each.
Seahawks best Leopards at Fort Adams

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University women's rugby team played their breast cancer awareness game at fort Adam today. The Seahawks won again, beating Wentworth 74-14 in Colonial Coast Rugby Conference (CCRC) league play. Erin Gunther led the way with six tries and seven conversions. Gabi Hillner and Marisela Ackerman also scored twice in the win.

This past Saturday the Salve Regina University Women's Rugby Football Club steamrolled visiting Plymouth State, 53-0, in their home league opener in the Colonial Coast Rugby Conference. Salve Regina was led by two NSCRO Select Side players, Zoe Cockinos who had four tries, and Erin Gunther who had two tries and four conversions.
Seahawks get first win of 2019

NEWPORT, R.I. - This past weekend the Salve Regina University women's rugby team got its first win of the season versus Johnson & Wales. Even though JWU had to forfeit due to lack of player numbers, a scrimmage was still played. Some Salve players had to play for the opposing team but it was a great learning experience for all.
