Summary
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - Four different players tallied four goals or more for the Salve Regina University women's lacrosse team, led by senior Katie Kline (Brookefield, Conn.) and her six goals, as it earned a 22-9 victory over visiting Gordon College and a trip to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) semifinals.

Turning Point
Salve Regina raced out to a 4-0 lead before the Scots battled with a 6-3 run to back to draw within a single score at 7-6. The Scots had a couple of cracks to tie the game, including a free position attempt from Katelyn Dyer (Plainfield, N.J.) that rang off the post. The Seahawks collected the rebound and countered quickly, ending with a score from Katie Kline to push the lead back to two. The goal sparked a 7-0 run to end the first half for the Seahawks to take control of the game. Salve Regina would end up outscoring the Scots 15-3 the remainder of the game after they had a chance to tie.

  • Salve Regina returns to the CCC semifinals for just the third time and program history and the first time since 2003.
  • Olivia McCarrick (Glen Burnie, Md.) scored three times to pace the Scots while grabbing four ground balls and five draw controls.

  • The Seahawks held a 42-27 shot advantage.
  • Gabrilee Majensk (Hanson, Mass.) who was named an All-CCC third team defenseman caused a game-high four turnovers for the Seahawks.
