CCC Rookie and Offensive Player of the Week: Maddie Villareal

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University women's lacrosse freshman Maddie Villareal (Portsmouth, R.I.) has won both the Offensive and Rookie of the Week awards for the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC).

Villareal scored a total of 11 goals to help the Seahawks go 2-0 in Hilton Head, S.C. Villareal also tallied two assists in each game, earning a total of 15 points for the week. Villareal notched five goals against Ramapo including the game-winner in overtime, then scored six times against Southern Virginia University in a 22-8 victory for the Seahawks.

The Seahawks (3-1) return to the field this Saturday when they host Wentworth at 12 p.m. in their first CCC game of the season.
