NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University women's ice hockey team will be playing for Angela's Army this Saturday, November 23, when the team hosts Endicott College at 2 p.m.

Angela Augusta is a 2019 graduate of Salve Regina and was a four-year member of the women's ice hockey team. Shortly after graduating, Angela was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a blood cancer that attacks the body's immune system.

It is Angela's mission and vision that "Angela's Army" will raise awareness about Hodgkin's Lymphoma and give back to cancer patients who cannot afford certain health care expenses. The money accumulated from this fundraiser will help donate wigs, beanies, clothes, and blankets to cancer patients in need."

Angela plans to attend the game and conduct a ceremonial puck drop before the game. Both teams will wear bracelets during the game in support of Angela's Army and the women's ice hockey team will be selling bracelets and t-shirts at a table next to the stands. Fans coming to the game are encouraged to wear their Salve Regina gear along with some purple in support of the cause.
