MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - Senior netminder Jennifer O'Connell (Marstons Mills, Mass.) earned her third career shutout and the Salve Regina University women's ice hockey team defeated visiting Becker College 2-0 in Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) action Saturday night.

- Salve Regina junior Caroline Prezioso (Trumbull, Conn.) scored her first of the season with 4:09 remaining in the third period give break a scoreless tie.
- Salve Regina junior Maddy McCann (Westerly, R.I.) scored a shorthanded empty-net goal with 34 seconds left to seal the victory.
- Salve Regina senior Jennifer O'Connell made 12 saves, collecting her second shutout of the season, her third overall in her career, and improved to 3-6-2 in net on the season.
Turning Point
Caroline Prezioso tipped home a shot from the wing to put the Seahawks up 1-0 late in the third period. An interference call against the Seahawks gave the Hawks life with 1:09 left in the period. They pulled their goalie to get a 6-on-4 advantage, but Maddy McCann forced a turnover on the forecheck and while being knocked down to the ice scored on the empty net to secure the 2-0 win.
