MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - Visiting tenth-ranked Williams College, powered by special teams, shutout the Salve Regina University women's ice hockey team 4-0 in non-conference action Tuesday night.

The Ephs own a 5-0 record in the all-time series. This is their fourth shutout of the series.

Three Stars of the Game

  1. Williams sophomore Meghan Halloran (Darien, Conn.) scored her team leading eighth and ninth goals of the season and handed out two assists.
  2. Salve Regina senior Jennifer O'Connell (Marstons Mills, Mass.) made 50 saves in the loss to fall to 2-6-2.
  3. Williams freshman Emma London (Wellesley, Mass.) made 19 saves to earn a victory and shutout in her first collegiate appearance.

Turning Point
Halloran scored twice in the first period, once on the powerplay and again shorthanded with four seconds remaining in the frame. Then 3:45 into the second period she setup Annie Rush (Anchorage, Alaska) for the Ephs second powerplay goal of the game and a 3-0 lead.

Quick Hits

  • All four of the Ephs goals came in special teams situations. Two powerplay goals, the shorthanded goal, then a delayed penalty goal with the extra attacker from Delaney Szlezyngier (Sterling Heights, Mich.) rounded out the Ephs scoring on the night.
  • Williams outshot Salve Regina 54-19.
  • The Ephs went 2-for-3 on the powerplay while holding the Seahawks to 0-for-2.
