Summary
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - Four different Pilgrims scored for New England College women's ice hockey in a 4-2 victory over Salve Regina University in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action at St. George's Ice Arena. The Pilgrims scored once in the first period, and after the Seahawks tied the score in the second period on Taylor Chisholm's (Discovery Bay, Calif.) second goal of the season, the visitors added two more tallies for a 3-1 lead heading into the third period. Chisholm brought the Seahawks within one on her third of the season and second of the game, but Maisie Tatum-Borich (Newport Beach, Calif.) gave a two-goal advantage back to New England College with her first of the season.

Series and Streaks
New England College now leads the all-time series, 14-12-2, and ends a seven-game win streak by the Seahawks in the process.

Three Stars of the Game

  1. Salve Regina junior Taylor Chisholm (Discover Bay, Calif.) scored both of her team's goals, one in the second and another in the third; first tying the score and then drawing the Seahawks within one. Both were unassisted.
  2. New England College sophomore Tara Turcotte (Huntington Beach, Calif.) scored her first goal of the season on a power play at 9:25 in the first period.
  3. New England College sophomore Julia Radcliffe (Anchorage, Alaska) scored her second goal of the season, the game winner at 16:09 in the second period.

Key Stat of the Game
After the game's first goal came on a power play, both teams excelled at the penalty kill as the Seahawks blanked the Pilgrims on their next eight chances, and New England College denied Salve Regina on all of its nine power plays.

Turning Point
New England College nearly took a 2-0 lead but an early tally in the second period was nullified with the goal off its moorings, and Chisholm responded with her game-tying goal at 4:30 in the period.
